2007 Sports Camp in China

What better way to establish good international relations and learn about a culture than to play together! That is what this program is dedicated to: good international sportsmanship. You will learn badminton, ping pong, Taekwondo, Kung Fu, gymnastics, tennis, volley ball, self-defense, and boxing. The actual days in training are 10, but the program is 19 days, including sojourns to China's famous sites. The summer school will be at the Beijing Shitahai Sports Academy, one of the most famous sports academies in China. The Academy has trained many luminaries, including Jet Li for kung fu, Xie Jun in chess, Zhang Yi Ning, the world champion in ping pong, Huo Yuan Yuan, a champion gymnast, Feng Kun, the current coach for the Beijing volleyball team, and Yang Shi Ming for self-defense.
At this school, you will have a choice of many different extracurricular activities, such as 2 weeks of Kung Fu, or 2 weeks of another sport. We will combine all of the classes and go on tours together, so you will have the opportunity to meet other Western students.
Morning training is from 9-11, afternoon training is from 3:30 - 5:30. The school is located in downtown Beijing by Shitahai River. The surroundings are extremely beautiful and across the street from the school is the world-famous Beihai Park. The location is also very convenient for you everyday shopping needs. Nearby is Gulou Shopping Center which has a super market, a series of bars and restaurants, and a Starbucks. The goal of the sports academy is for each person to have a great time and learn something.
