Chin Na - trapping and locking an opponents joints

In the US, we think of self-defense as buying a gun or taking a class. But in China, self-defense is an art that has developed over thousands of years. In Chinese Kung Fu a person can appear defenseless, but can turn out to be quite dangerous to an attacker. Not only are the moves simple, they are effective. In the art of self-defense, you will learn how to use an opponents movements and strengths against him. This art is called Chin Na, the art of controlling an opponent by locking their joints. The key is to seize one part of the body in order to control the whole. The techniques you will learn are listed below. In accordance with the Chinese mentality of beauty, the names of the techniques are both graceful and memorable.

Teacher's Bio
Master Shi Ming Yang, a Level Six Master (equivalent Level 3 Black belt) is a fifth-generation Ba Gua descendant. Now, he is a high-level Ba Gua Master teaching Ba Gua at the Shitahai Sports Academy. Master Yang Studied Ku Fu for 30 years. He has participated in many Chinese Martial arts competitions, winning many medals and awards. In 1991, he won the silver medal from one of the most prestigious marital art competitions, the Henan Traditional International Competition. In 1993, he won first place in the short weapon competition, and second place in boxing at the Beijing International Martial Arts Boxing Match. He is also a Ba Gua broad sword champion. Master Yang is a well respected Ku fu master teaching students from America, Japan, England, Italy, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and other countries since 1992. Over the years, he has used his teaching experience to fashion his own style of martial arts.
